Aircraft Import

To Import an Aircraft..
To register an imported aircraft, include a statement by the official having jurisdiction over the National Aircraft Registry of the foreign country of export indicating that registration has ended or that the aircraft was never registered.

Include the Bill of Sale, signed in ink, from the foreign seller to the U. S. applicant/owner. Also include the completed Aircraft Registration Application, FAA Form 8050-1, and a check or money order made payable to the United States Treasury in the amount of $5 (U.S. Funds).

Imports are worked on a priority basis. Please indicate "Import" in RED ink on the envelope and the request.

Use of an original Aircraft Registration Application, AC Form 8050-1, is required. Photocopies and computer-generated copies of this form are not acceptable for the registration of aircraft.

Aircraft Registration Applications may be obtained from the Aircraft Registration Branch or your local FAA Flight Standards District Office (FSDO). The applicant's physical location or physical address must also be shown on the application if a post office box (PO box) is entered as the mailing address.
